Top 3 Hottest Summer Nail Colors

Growing up I had a fascination with painting my nails. I think it all started when my mom would plan special evenings for us to relax as girls and have spa nights. My mom would give my sister and I paraffin wax hand treatments and then a mani/pedi. This is one of my most treasured memories growing up (quite the luxurious experience for 8 and 9 year olds)!

The majority of the year I find myself in some sort of nude polish but during the summer I like to find bright pinks and reds to compliment my tan. I always get my fingernail polish in Shellac and my nails have grown very strong due to less breakage.

This summer I have been going back to these three nail colors that will always have people complimenting you on your pretty little piggies!

Here are a few of my favorites!

    Chanel Turban

This is the perfect pinkish orange, one of my favorite colors for a beach vacation!

    YSL Rose Romantique

This color is elegant and practical. The perfect light pink!

    OPI Tiramisu for Two

I had to sneak a nude color in! This is the color I am wearing in the featured image at the top of the page. Less is more with this gorgeous color.

What are your favorite summer colors??!

    Cardinal Sangria- Fourth of July

    Outfit Details:

Top: Sail to Sable | Shoes: TOMS | Earrings: Hello Dobson | Lipstick: MAC | Denim: Paper Denim & Cloth | Shades: Karen Walker | Stemless Wine Glasses: Hobby Lobby| Tray Insert: Pagoda Print Hello Dobson

Let me just start by saying, I love the 4th of July.

    {Who doesn't love Merica', sparklers, and sangria?!}

There are so many recipe variations out there when it comes to sangria. Really, there’s no strict rules – which is part of why sangria is so great (which is why it’s so yummy of course). Today’s HD recipe, Cardinal Sangria Cocktail, is one of those super simple crowd pleasers that takes less than ten minutes to make, but will keep folks coming back for more!

This Cardinal Sangria recipe is great for a summer BBQ or even tailgating before a St. Louis Cardinal’s game :), but it’s also a great recipe for wedding showers, baby showers, and bachelorette parties. Really, anytime you need a simple, yet beautiful, drink that will serve lots of people, sangria is a great choice.

    All you need is:
    ¼ cup sugar
    ¼ cup water
1 bottle dry red table wine
    ½ cup brandy
    1 cup pomegranate juice
    1 whole apple, sliced
    1 whole orange, sliced
    1 cup strawberries, sliced
    ½ cup blueberries

First, combine your sugar and water in a saucepan. Over medium high heat bring mixture to a boil. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool.

Add red wine, brandy, pomegranate juice, apples, oranges, and strawberries to a large pitcher.

Next, add in cooled simple syrup and stir. (Optional: Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving) Garnish with lemon slices and you are all set!

I will be wearing this adorable Sail to Sable top for the 4th along with wet lake hair and a sunburn :)

What do you and your family do for the 4th?? I'd love some ideas!

    xoxo,

    Blair
